Thank you to everyone who commented on last week's post, "What do you know about Africa" We found out some very interesting things about Africa:

- The big five" (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and black rhinoceros) are found in this area of Africa.

- Due to mosquito population, East Africa is a higher riskย  for malaria.

- The name of their national anthem is "Ee Mungu Nguvu Yetu" which is translated "O God of All Creation."

- The Maasai people are located in the southern parts of Kenya and northern parts of Tanzania. These people are very traditional with their customs.

*For all of you, especially, Josh, this is Tangu Tatu (Maasai Village, five hours outside Nairobi, Kenya). Here are Maasai kids with my co-leader Hannah Olsen.

These are solid facts about the area you are going to.

Now, let's devulge a little deeper in the country. What I would like to ask is what problems does East Africa face? Are there factors that make everyday living very difficult? Are they environmental? Political? Ethnic and Social? Religious?

Let's see what we can find and report our findings back here. If you are stuck, try a news site. They are usually great for country information as well as the most up-to-date issues affecting where you are going.
